Ok, so the EP is out. I'm sure by now you've noticed you can download it from our website. Feel free to make copies. Give it your friends- especially the ones at record labels. Just so everyone knows-in case you got a copy of the CD from the show, the mix for the first song, 'Who-Style Rave-Up', was not it in its prime form by the time I needed to be at the Bottle to play the show. So...I have re-mixed it and you can download the new version from the site. Also, I tried to make to all of the songs abit louder, without doing any major mastering to it. If you have a hardcopy of the cd from the show, I would suggest downloading the newer MP3's from the site, burning them onto a new disk, and then throwing out the old disk. You'll be midly happier, especially if you paid the $2.

We have no plans for shows right now. Unless something comes up we'll be taking a break from playing live for abit to finish the LP. See ya soon. Enjoy the jams.

Thanks to everyone that came to our last two shows in Milwaukee and Madison. An extra special thanks goes out to Paul and Mark in Milwaukee and Nicole in Madison for taking the time to put together each event. You guys rule. We'll have some pictures up shortly from these two concerts.

We can't waittttttt for our next show at the Bottle on May 4th with Destroyer and Frog Eyes- not only because we will be playing with two awesome bands, but because we will be releasing an EP that will feature three songs from our upcoming full-length. The EP will feature "Day After Day", "Three Days (from John to Peter)", and "Seeeeeee".

Good Friday, 4/9/04

I had to re-claim the site from Donny before he put more pictures of Tim on the page. I think he has some kind of a thing for o'd......Please read my latest rant by clicking. See y'all in Wisconsin, Illinois and Ohio!

Ok, so the site has been in a constant state of update recently. Its probably gonna keep changing, so check back often. I'm never satisfied with the way it looks. I'm hoping to have a Flash version up, but that probably won't hapen for a while.

We have decide to release a three song CD, tentatively entitled 'PrE.P.' as a precursor to our upcoming full length. This will be an independent release available at shows featuring selections from the upcoming LP. Hopefully it will whett the appetite of our loyal TCR fans and put a fire under our collective asses to finish the record.

Donny

3/26/04

So we finally updated the site. Everything's not up yet, but check back often in the next couple of days. We'll have some new mp3's up from our WLUW performance, amongst other fun stuff.

And..... Two shows coming up. Check the shows section.

From Pitchfork:

"The mustache has once again reclaimed its place atop facial hair heirarchy. A fashion statement first made by a group of French loyalists in the mid-1500s (at the time, to draw attention to one's upper lip was a sign of approval), the popularity of the mustache has waxed and waned among men over the centuries, a trend that can be directly linked to the overriding socio-economic swings of the times. Idiocyncratic, audacious, and carnivorious, that strip of hair over lip once again is a symbol of virility and totally awesomeness. In conclusion, if you have one you are cool. Because we say so."

SEE, HEAR----

JAN 15--Playing "live" on hot underground radio show called "Radio Free Chicago" which is on WLUW which is 88.7 FM which is on Jan. 15 and is at... I don't know, I'll say 7 pm.

JAN 17--And then the hot show is at the Empty Bottle on the Jan. 17 with hotshots "The Unicorns" and purists "Del Rey." that is at 10 pm or something and costs a small amount of money that is under 10 dollars.

Ok, So the masses have spoken. You asked for more of a taste of the new record to whett your appetite until its finished. Well, here is a new clip of one of our upcoming jams, featuring Ed and Mark, fresh from their intense vocal training camp and extensive drum workshop tour. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Ha Ha, my dsl is working again and I reclaimed the site from Ed. For those few of you that actually care about what is happening in the world of TCR, here's the update:

Started the rec-ing for the LP last weekend. Its gonna take a while, but hopefully it'll be done by the beginning of the year. Here's a little taste of whats to come: MP3

We played a show at the Fireside last Thursday. Thanks to all our peeps for coming out. Hopefully you didn't hate the new jams too much.

The only thing we have scheduled as of now is a radio appearance on WLUW in January. We'll fill you in on the details as that approaches.

Hey Ya,

Just a quick note to mention that my birthday is on Monday, September 8th, and also that there is now a title for our first full-length record: "Hello sunshine".

Party People,

Thanks for everyone who came to see is last night at the Bottom Lounge. It was a decent show, I thought. I can't wait to get out of town here because of the Harley Davidson 100th anniversary thing....ALTHOUGH, I did manage to play some engaging games of "horse" with some bikers in Door County this afternoon. But it's too goddamn loud...and it's hot in my apt, even though it's 60 outside. Because of the volume, it is barely possible for me to maintain my daily routines of listening to old Aerosmith records all morning and all night, with listening to Cat Power in the afternoon....

I can't wait to get started on this record so I can stop talking about how geeeeeeen it's going to be. ALSO, don't forget to watch "The Rock and Roll Bad Boy" TV show at 10:00 PM tommorrow on VH1. At least that's what Brett Meisner "says" will "happen"....his legend is carved in stone like so many etchings.

Dance with me, E.J.

08-20-03

Hey all you wall jammers,

So we are playing a show this Tuesday August 26th at the Bottom Lounge. Some how we ended up headlining so we won't go on until 11:00. This may be the last show for a while. We are spending all of efforts working on a bunch of new songs for our first full length record which should hopefully be finished by the beginning of 2004. If you come out to see us on Tuesday night you may get to hear a couple of these new jams. The details for the night can be found on the shows page. Hope to see you there.

BTW, we didn't end up playing with Black Nasty at Camp Gay last weekend. However they still played. They were absolutely amazing! Black and Pink, thanks for playing, sorry about the noxious fumes!

Donny RAD

07-29-03

Sup,

It has been quite some time since I provided any kind of update, but yeah the past few months have had their "up" and "down" "moments", but yeah, as Donny said, we are still together, and plan on finishing up our first full-length record by the end of this year. Shows will be happening too, including the not-too-shabby honor of welcoming Black Nasty & the Mysterious Krew to the "middle-west" for the very first time. Hopefully, we'll squeeze some slots at the Bottle or Schubas into our schedule of learning and recording the new jams so all of you can get a good look at us.

So, that's really all I have to say, I'm currently in the process of trying to co-ordinate submitting my lease ending for my apartment, getting a job in chicago, and then an apartment in chicago. Shouldn't be too diff, but that would really speed up the process of the record and the recording of the record. I'll shut up now and get back to the couch. Imagine your own hype for the rest of the year....I'm no good at creating it. Although.....I am LeBron James' agent and the creator of "Tropical Sprite Remix", so maybe I am good at it.

Hello.

We weathered the storm. We made it through the bizness. Contrary to all recent rumors, TCR is not breaking up!

In fact, not only have we patched up the 'miscommunications', but we are about to give TCR a facelift in the form of new songs and a FULL LENGTH RECORD! Ed has written a dozen new songs that we are scheduled to record in the upcoming months which are going take TCR into an era of un-kitschy (and dare I say, more serious) pop music. We are all very excited. Thats all I'll say about that.

Donny

06-09-03

Its been a while since the page has had an update.
So here's some news:

TCR's sabbatical has been moving along quite slowly- with only two new jams in the works, it looks like our goal of playing all new songs is not gonna happen by our next show- which happens to be June 20th at Camp Gay by the way. It looks like we are going to be playing with the Stag Party among other fine bands on this evening. Details will be announced shortly.

Matt Griffin has won the first TCR contest by default because he was the only person to even try and guess the amount of bands Donny has been in. Anyway, the magic number is 28 bands. Congratulations Matt. We haven't decided what the prize will be yet, but it should be something really, really, really awesome.

And lastly..... be on the lookout for a new TCR side project in the works...All I can say is, it is a blank slate upon which to "tap your potential."

I will leave you with that.

Dr.D

04-17-03

Yo,

So TCR is on a brief sabbatical right now, we are working on some new jams. I know we are being a little ambitous, but we are shooting to play only new songs for our next show. We'll see, it may happen, but 1/5th of the band lives in Milwaukee, still.

Also, Friday night, make sure you go out to see Stag Party at the Bottle. Their last performance at the Hideout was geeeeeeeenius! They will be featuring the Stag Choir again. DON'T MISS IT!

In other news, today marks the day of the first TCR contest, look below for details.

The first TCR contest

Y'all,

We had a good time last night. If you saw us, and are now here, thank you. If you would like some mp3's of our jams, head over to the A/V Section of the page.

In other news, it is April 5th and it's 29 degrees outside. Don't be fooled by the sun! If you check out the shows section of the page you will see that we don't have any for awhile.....don't sweat it, we'll be back in awhile, we are finally getting the chance now 2 take some time off. It will be well worth it.

Ring out a Hoya, Eddington

03-27-03

Praise the lord, my internet connection is finally working again! Here are some new updates:

A new Rick's Pics has been added for our last Empty Bottle show. We all felt questionable about our performance, but Rick put it into perspective, like he always does.

I added some new photos of recent shows to the Audio/Visual Section. Check those out.

Even though we said we are going to have a short sabbatical to write some news songs, we couldn't refuse the chance to play with The Tractenburg Family Slideshow players in Milwaukee next Friday April 4th. (Check the shows section for more deets.) They are getting alot a press lately. They recently appeared on Conan O'Brian, which is always nice. Also, we haven't played in Milwaukee for a while, so it'll nice to hang with all of our peeps there.

And... I know this is old news, but because my internet was broken I have to mention this....We got a Spot Check in the Reader for our last show at the Bottle. Unfortunately we were listed as Candyland Riots from L.A.

Donny

ps. I got sick of looking at myself in drag when I open up the site, so I took that picture off.

03-19-03

We are playing with Adam Green and also the Branches TOMORROW NIGHT at the Empty Bottle (1035 N. Western Ave.), and it starts around 10:00.
More importantly, head over to my NCAA Tournament page here.
Later Jerks, Eddie

03-04-03

March Forth, People!
Thanks to all of those who braved the only snow of the year (until today) to make it to Schuba's last night....it was an awesome night (I'll trade my git cord coming unplugged over having my strings getting all cranked up and out of tune any day of the week), and I'm feeling pangs of regret for not picking up the 63 Crayons record. Rick has it though, so I can just burn it from him once I pay up my sizeable travel debt to him. But by far the highlight of the evening had to be Sokimoto from Elekibass talking to me trying to tell me he liked us but not knowing how to say it in English. Cool as hell.
So what's next for TCR? Well, we have one more remaining confirmed show at the Empty Bottle in Chic on 3/20, and then it appears as if we'll be taking a couple of months off to work on some new jams and what not....but more deets on that as it develops.
Gee golly, I now realize that this post is entirely devoid of sarcasm and wit. Shelly's "no joking" policy is really working its way into my psyche. I do want to throw out a quick plug----Crooked Fingers is playing with Polite (Mark Waldoch w/ Chris and Jon from Pele) TONIGHT at the Globe East in Milwaukee and Thursday at Schuba's in Chic. If you haven't seen Mark play before, it is definitely something you should check out, especially when he is with a band....and Eric always puts on a good show as well on the southern tip.
That's really all for me right now, come and see us at the Bottle two weeks from Thursday!!! Later Boo.
Lizzove, Eddie

Sorry to be Captain News Updater but....
STAG PARTY RULES. THEY WERE AMAZING TONIGHT AT THE HIDEOUT. THE STAG CHOIR WAS GENIUS!

ps. Check the a/v sect. Todd B in full effect!

pss. Also, if you are cool, this what you will be doing this weekend- Friday, go see Cathode play at a house party. Then go to the Nerd Battle at Camp Gay. Saturday go and watch Architecture play at Gunther Murphy's with Bosco and Jorge. but Don't see Colossal... Sunday, you can watch Colossal play with New High Low and Pele. THEN>>>>>>>>> MONDAY NIGHT WATCH US-----TCR______AT******SCHUBASSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!

2-26-03

Yo, whats up peeps. Just watched the new Bill Maher show on HBO. I must say its quite genius.

Anyway, we are getting ready for our show at Schubas next Monday. There is a very good possiblity that we will be playing not one, but two new songs at this show. Well actually, one of them is a rehashed, slower version of an older song. Funny that we have only been playing together for about nine months and we are already doing rehashed versions of our songs.

Also, check out a new feature on our 'shows' page called "Rick's Pick's". Since our #1 fan Rick has probably been the only person to see every one of our shows thus far, we have given him the authority to rate and chronicle our performances, in case you happen to miss them.

2-17-03 II: "The Quest for Curly's Gold"

Another great show last night! It was alot of fun. Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting us. Thanks to Nigel and Zelienople for playing. They were both very cool bands.

And.....apparently TCR was played on Q101 last night! Thats pretty cool, considering we didn't even send them a cd.

Also, the male-ing list works now, so email us to be put on our list for upcoming shows.

Now I am up at 4:44 am. Just finished making some minor adjustments to the site. I added an A/V section in place of the mp3 section. Check it out.

Also, we have our first show at the Empty Bottle this Sunday the 16th. Come out and see us if you can.

Donny

2-5-03

Geez louise....I'm up at 4 am and I was going to do a HOTT update to the news section and say what donny just said. perhaps i ought to change the password to the site....anyways, if you want to read me rambling aimlessly about stuff, i have added a throwback page to tcr.com's roots here.

I hope all y'all are having a tremendous week so far and we are all hella excited about the smattering of shows coming up on the horizon like the sun is going to in a few brief hours.

love, eddington jurkwood

2-4-03

Thanks to all who showed up at Camp Gay on Saturday. We had alot of fun playing, talking to our friends and watching the other bands. Colossal and Taking Pictures both played great sets. We hope everyone who came out Saturday night at Camp Gay had an enjoyable experience as well.

If you look in the A/V section you can see a poem that was read to us before Shelly and I slid down the fireman's pole to kick off the show at Camp Gay. M.C. Fethers was responsible for lending his poetic prowess to the festivities on Sat nightttt!

We look forward to seeing you all at our next show at the Empty Bottle on Feb 16th.

Donny

Hi folks, welcome. I am writing unfortunately in the wake of the space shuttle tragedy (aka The Challenger II: Electric Boogaloo), so there is a sad tone to everything, but I will try to make the best of it ya know? if we could come together as a nation after 9/11, i'm sure, as hard as it may seem, we can gather our hearts as a nation once more.

so anyways, this is eddie writing with some info that i think you should know. we have three shows coming up in the immediate future, one of which is TONIGHT at camp gay in chicago on 2001 point street. deets are available in the "shows" section. the other are at two of the finer establishments in the area.

otherwise i'm trying to adjust to the new hi-fi version of the page and trying to see if i can still maintain some cred in this racket with a fancy webpage. i don't know too much else to say........we're excited about these upcoming shows, no real plans to make a new record anytime soon so take another listen to the one we made last year. i guess rather than just type nonsense for the rest of the afternoon.

see you on tour.

love, eddie

1-26-03

Oh happy day...we finally have a super pro web site created by man of many post-whatever bands, Donny. Tonight we are going to rock the kinkos-unnhh and make some flyers for our show at camp gay on Saturday, Feb 1st. Come see all members of the riots slide down the firemans pole Saturday while holding their very own instruments.

News!!! Mark's (the drummer) real name is Matt . Ask him what his favorite Journey song is and he'll play it for you on his new fancy drum kit.

News!!! Ed (the main dude) is perverted and a terrorist and he just got a fancy new Guitar Center endorsed Boss stage tuner. Way to be different. Next thing you know he'll be just like everyone else and he'll move to Chicago.

News!!! Donny (aka: Harry Potter the keyboard wizard) is still currently in 9000 bands and has 3 solo projects in the works. Ask Donny to be in your band at the show on Saturday and he'll probably say, "YES".

News!!! Tim(the bass player) is really Val Kilmer and has been trying to incorporate a free jazz cover of "Crazy Train" into the riots current set list. Ask to touch his rain stick on Saturday and he'll probably say, "YES" as long as he doesn't have to write a paper for grad school.

News!!! Shelly is hungry.
